13 🤎 I’ve rewritten this probably 10 times because I don’t know how to explain what it feels like to watch your youngest leave childhood while your oldest is entering adulthood.

I had my babies young. And I’ve always thought that meant I was lucky because I get so much life with them.

What i sometimes forget is that I was so young too. I was growing up while I was raising them. And sometimes I look at people my age with little kids now and feel this ache I can’t really explain because they’re standing in a part of their life I would give anything to visit again.

I’d just like to know it was the good old days while I was still in them. And now my baby is 13.

What’s messing with me most is that my oldest felt so old to me for years. And now that he’s entering adulthood, I look at him and realize how incredibly young he still is. At the exact same time, the one who has always felt little to me suddenly feels so grown. And somewhere in between those two things, I realized…their childhood is ending.

So today I’m trying not to wish you backwards, Luka. Because I know there will come a day when I would give anything to come back to this version of you too.

Okay this one was a little bit of a puzzle

She had quite a bit of banding from multiple blonding appointments and was also just feeling too blonde. She wanted some depth back, but I really didn’t want this to turn into a super contrasted blonde/brunette situation.

So instead of thinking highlights + lowlights, I was basically thinking… how can I create as many little transitions between her natural and her blonde as possible?

I ended up doing a double AirTouch.

My first leave out was highlighted so I could keep that brightness travelling into her ends, then I AirTouched that section AGAIN and used a medium/dark blonde through the second leave out to give me another transition through the mids. Everything left behind could then live closer to her natural.

So instead of natural → dark → BLONDE

we get natural → soft depth → medium blonde → light blonde.

And honestly I think that tiny extra transition is what makes the whole thing work. There’s still dimension, it just doesn’t really look dimensional in the traditional high/low way.

It’s almost monochromatic bronde?? If that makes sense 😂

Anyway. I’m obsessed with how soft this turned out.

But when you guys ask me how I foil faster… sometimes I don’t.

Some of my high impact blondes take me 2-3 hours just to foil. Because to get that really seamless, high impact result, sometimes that’s just how long it takes me.

I think we get so caught up in trying to be faster behind the chair that we forget faster doesn’t automatically mean better. Sometimes it’s not “how do I do this faster?” It’s “how do I do this better?”

And if better takes me a little longer, I’m okay with that 🤍

I came home from this trip feeling SO inspired. Like the kind of inspired where your brain won’t shut up because you suddenly want to create everything.

Getting to learn from @yogacolourist was one of those moments where I just wanted to listen, learn and take it all in.

And @melaniemhasson , you are an absolute earth angel and I’m so filled with gratitude for the time we got to spend together 🫶🏼💙

But honestly, one of my favourite parts was looking around and realizing how many people in those rooms are people I genuinely get to call my friends. Watching them on stage, seeing them absolutely inspire a room, cheering them on and then thinking… wait, these are the people I get to surround myself with??

That’s pretty fking cool.

There’s something about being around people who are insanely talented, creative and passionate about what they do that makes you want to come home and be better at what you do.

Montréal filled my cup. 🤍

One of my biggest consultation tips: give your client choices, not decisions.

Clients don’t always know what’s technically possible. Sometimes they come in wanting the best of both worlds… and as professionals, we know those two things don’t always get to coexist. 👀

Instead of deciding for them, I use choice theory.

“If we prioritize this, we may have to sacrifice this. Which is more important to you?”

That one question changes everything.

My job in a consultation isn’t to choose the result for my client. It’s to set the professional boundaries around what’s technically possible, explain the trade-offs, and give them enough information to decide what matters most to them.

Because a successful consultation isn’t just about managing expectations.

It’s making sure the result we’re working toward is actually the result they chose. 🤍
